We will pick up the item(s) inside your business or residence and prepare them for transportation back to our warehouse for final packaging/crating. Items to be crated/shipped will typically be picked up at a loading dock or through one door on the ground floor. A box truck equipped with a lift-gate is the designated vehicle for most pickups, but a van can be used for small items not requiring a lift-gate.

The cost estimate is based on a one-person pickup. If the shipper is unable to assist the driver with overweight or oversize items, we may resource a second person or additional as needed. A nominal fee will be added for use of the lift-gate and additional manpower. We also offer onsite crating, when practical. Please contact us if you require additional manpower – additional charges may apply. With the condition of stairs or other obstacles at the pickup location, additional charges may apply.

The consignee (destination) will typically be contacted by phone to schedule delivery which is typically made in the morning, Monday through Friday, with a four-hour window. To minimize shipping costs, delivery is based on a one-person delivery to the door of the ground floor or to the tailgate of the truck when cargo is over-size/weight.

Overweight is defined as cargo over 75 pounds and will be delivered to the tailgate of the truck. The consignee will be responsible for unloading and should have the proper help upon delivery. When the consignee is unable or unwilling to unload, PCC must be contacted immediately to coordinate alternate arrangements made prior to shipping or delivery.

We can generally provide any level of service required, including additional manpower, uncrating, inside delivery, lift-gate, and other services. Please note that the extra services will require an additional charge above the quoted amount. If the consignee resides in an area where delivery by a large truck is prohibited or not possible, please contact us immediately. Additional charges may apply.

We offer three types of deliveries at destination. The first, and least expensive, is the standard Curbside Delivery (generally to the door or inside your garage). The next level up is Inside Delivery (unpacking not included) and the third is our White Glove Delivery service (we will unpack/uncrate the contents, place them where you want and remove all debris). We do not install artwork.

Please call us at 650-583-8544 to discuss options, costs and other services available.

It is the customer’s responsibility to elect or decline insurance of cargo to be shipped, delimited by the terms and conditions of the contract, and to pay for the insurance indemnity, if elected. The value of each item to be shipped should be declared at the onset which is defined as the sum paid or current market value (CMV). To determine CMV you will be required to have an appraisal dated not more than one year.

The conditions and limitations of insurance and liability are stipulated on the House Bill that form a part of the contract. The customer is obligated to read and understand the terms and conditions on the front and back of the House Bill which will be required to accept before using the shipping services at PCC.

Should a claim be initiated and approved, the recompense will be based on the amount or the percentage of the value that was declared on the House Bill. We can only provide insurance on items that have been packed by PCC employees. Customer packed goods or pre-packed items can only be insured for theft or loss of an entire package.

We specialize in palletizing, high-strength corrugated packaging, custom skids, wood crating, and shipping cargo domestically and internationally. PCC custom builds crates to the appropriate specifications and design after inspecting the cargo and obtaining the dimensions and weight.

Crates are made to fit the items(s) they will contain and are built with an internal design structure to mitigate the stresses and transportation environment the crate and its contents encounter as it travels cross country, across the ocean or through the air.
Our export crates are ISPM-15 Certified. We incorporate several custom packing and crating techniques here at PCC that include high quality lumber and plywood for construction, cushioning materials such as one and two-inch foam to offset vibration and shock during transit, blocking and bracing, hardware and tiedowns to effectively secure cargo in place.

The packing and ‘crate only’ price includes pick up and crating in our regular service area. Please call us at 650-583-8544 and ask if you are within the service area.

If you or your company needs items transported from one location to another, PCC can provide you with easy shipping solutions at an affordable price. All items to be shipped through PCC will be professionally boxed, crated or secured to a skid for transport to their destination in accordance with the terms and conditions stated herein.

Please note that the consignee is responsible for unloading the cargo if it’s too large to fit on the delivering truck’s liftgate.

Transit Time

The average time to complete packaging and crating is 2 to 3 business days after pick-up or drop off at our warehouse. We offer same day, next day and two-day service for an additional fee. Actual shipping or transit time will vary from 3 to 8 working days depending on length of haul and does not include the time for pick-up and packaging/crating.
Typical shipping or transit time via ground service from the West to East Coast is 4 to 5 days. Residential deliveries usually add additional days to transit time because the receiver or consignee will be contacted to schedule a delivery day.
Ocean transit times to most international destinations are 25-40 days, with air transit times of 2 to 5 days. Typical transit time to Hawaii via ocean is one week.
The stated times are estimates and will vary by location and workload. Please discuss specific transit and delivery time with your PCC associate.

Payments are non-refundable and must be received wholly before goods and services are provided, as agreed between the purchaser and PCC. If full payment has not been received by PCC, 30 days after the ‘Due Date’ as shown on PCC’s invoice to the party(s) responsible for payment, the owner of said cargo shall then forfeit ownership of all goods and services.
Until payment is received, items will not be shipped. Returned charges shall be paid in advance for a shipment refused by the consignee. PCC is not responsible for return freight and related charges.

Quoted and actual prices may be adjusted after validation of size, weight and value, and/or when additional special services are required or requested. Services may be suspended until payment has been processed. The goods shall ship once payment has been processed.

If payment method chosen is by credit or debit card, you or your representative(s) are responsible to provide the correct and valid credit card details to PCC. You further agree, understand and confirm that all credit card details provided by you for services rendered by PCC will be correct and accurate and you shall not use any credit card or other method of payment which is not lawfully owned by you or your representative(s). Moreover, the information will not be utilized and shared by PCC with any third parties unless required by law, regulation or court order.
